WOMEN'S FOOTBALL TEAM GETS FEMALE HEAD COACH!
Newly appointed Head Coach for the West Virginia Wonders women's football team, Chris Trembley is no stranger to the world of sports. Having played many sports, including running track and cross-country, beach volleyball, soccer, boxing and even some wrestling, her love has always been the hard hitting contact sports. She played football in high school, playing one year on the women's team and one year on the men's team. In college she played ten semesters of rugby at Marshall University, coaching the last three before moving on to play for the Louisville Riversharks. She joined the National Women's Football Association as a player for the Kentucky Karma, where she spent three seasons as a lineman, missing part of the second season due to military service in Iraq. "We are thrilled to have someone with her playing and coaching experience become the Head coach of one of our teams. The league has always broken down barriers and this is certainly one of the biggest barriers in the sport. We look forward to some great things from Chris," states league CEO, Catherine Masters.
